.... What could be more beautiful
than a bouquet of lilies?

Lily spindles are being produced by
Gilbert Gonsalves, builder of the
Robin spining wheels.

Lily spindles, named after Gilbert's
granddaughter, are designed and made
to look like flowers, with single,
double or multiple layers of wood.
In the process of cutting the petals,
the layers of wood are revealed,
creating the appearance of a
beautiful flower.

The wood used is either domestic
or certified pruning of Jerusalem
olive trees.

Gilbert lived in Africa and Central
America for 15 years.
In his travels he saw firsthand the
destruction of the rainforests, and
vowed never to use endangered
woods, in any of his products.
Robin Spinning Wheels and Lily
Spindles reflect that vow.

By careful manipulation, a com-
bination of domestic woods, such
as birdseye maple and holly can
create a stunning drop spindle,
more beautiful than any made of
endangered wood.
